All The Urgency of Wind Erosion

At last, the Tories on the New Forest District Council have responded to my calls to use some of their resources to provide affordable housing for local people.
I have been critical of them ignoring the issue for years, with thousands of people on the waiting list for housing, including hundreds who are being forced to live in bed and breakfast accommodation.
The Tories have responded to the housing need crisis with all the urgency of wind erosion.
I am glad, at least, that they are now proposing to use some of their reserves, as well as borrowing money, to purchase and provide homes for local people.
It is high time they did so.
Over the last two decades, they sold off half the council housing stock under the “Right to Buy” scheme and have never replaced these homes.
So, they are starting from a long way back than they were years ago.
