David Beckham
David Beckham

Few of us will ever enjoy the fame and riches that go with being a true celebrity.

David Beckham is widely regarded as a bit of a hero and no doubt has a team of people that are employed to cultivate his public image in a positive way.

However, it’s really difficult to defend somebody who accepts they were driving in a built up area with a 40mph limit at 59 mph.

The job becomes impossibly difficult when Mr Beckham decides that the best way of approaching this difficulty is to hire an expensive lawyer “Mr Loophole” and arrange to escape any punishment on a technicality.

Yes sure, he got off….. in a way that most of the population would never do so.

However, in the same way as some celebrities have been avoiding paying tax, the shine has rubbed off.

Tarnished golden balls.
