Things that won’t happen

Provide More Car Parking
Provide More Car Parking

I was out delivering Focus leaflets in Totton today when a resident asked me if it would be possible for Hampshire County Council to provide more car parking on this green area near his home.

I am sure many politicians would give the impression that it’s possible, or even likely.

However, I told the resident that HCC are unlikely to ever find the funding for a scheme like this for the foreseeable future. They are busy chopping another £90 million from their budget.

They don’t even know how they are going to keep funding Adult Social Care when demand exceeds supply in three years time.

Personally, I wouldn’t normally favour schemes that remove these green areas, in any event… but I accept that if that’s what local people want, then HCC should try and deliver it.
