Our 12 Pledges
Our 12 Pledges

Thank you for all the really positive feedback that I have received about the manifesto document.

As a local political party, we had a really hard think about the things that would help improve the lives of local people.

There are some things that benefit everybody such as “improving air quality”, other things that benefit some people such as “freezing council tax” and “creating a new country park” and other things that would help support smaller groups such as “discounted bus travel for younger people”.

I am pleasantly surprised at the absence of negative comment now that the document has been drawn together and publicised.

If nothing else, people can be clear about what we stand for. There are clear reasons to vote for the Liberal Democrats in the forthcoming elections.

What are the reasons for supporting the other parties? I can’t honestly say I know…..

The manifesto document is available as a PDF file which can be read using this link.

POSTAL VOTING…

POSTAL VOTING At present, the Government and local Authorities are saying that elections will still go ahead in May. I don't think they will. It's hard to see how potential candidates can get signatures on nominations forms without them turning into super spreader events, let alone all of the difficulties with campaigning. That said, it's…

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS…

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS I spent some time this morning on my allotment plot, mainly pulling weeds out of my strawberry patch. As I pulled up roots, I couldn't help but think of my own roots, especially when I heard the school bell ring from the adjoining Testwood school, where I was a pupil…

I have listened to this three times now. It is awesome, absolutely awesome… I never imagined that poetry could be quite so powerful as this. I don't think President Biden will mind at all being upstaged by this young lady. Maybe because of the contrast with the message that we got from Trump for four…
