Shopping = Happiness?
I carried out a bit of a social experiment today. I walked around a supermarket for 15 minutes with the intention of seeing how many people were smiling / looking happy.
I thought beforehand that maybe 50% would be smiling.
Not a bit of it…. to my shock, I didn’t see a single person smiling, laughing or joking the whole time.
Perhaps it is the time of year, perhaps it is not wanting to do the shopping on a Sunday, perhaps we are not a happy Nation.
Is it “a bit weird” if you walk around with a smile on your face these days?

It was a most remarkable day at Hampshire County Council today. As Leader of the Liberal Democrat Opposition group, I led the charge against the proposed closure of the Orchard Close Care Home, in Hayling Island.
