MY VOTING TIP
If asked to give you one tip when it comes to voting, my answer might surprise you!
I imagine that a lot of people would expect me to say "Vote for me" or for other Liberal Democrat candidates.
In fact, my one big tip about voting isn't at all about who to vote for, but ensuring that you get the chance to vote at all.
I have lost count of the number of times people have contacted me and told me that they cannot vote, or will have no chance to do so. There are scores reasons why people miss out… and it is often so preventable.
The tip is… to register as a postal voter.
If you do this, it won't matter if you are away on holiday, too busy working, forget that it is election day, fall ill or at home isolating from other because of another virus outbreak.
With postal voting, you get a voting ballot through the post, so it's hard to forget. All the evidence is that postal voters are far, far more likely to vote than people who plan to visit a polling station.
Maybe you aren't even registered to vote? Here is the link you need. Take a tip from me and register to vote as a postal voter.
Get on the electoral register so you can vote in elections and referendums.

VALUES OF THE MAFIA The Times, (always a Conservative supporting newspaper) is full of stories today about the Conservative party which shows it in a very poor light. There are reports of the party accepting very large donations from Russian oligarchs, including a number of current Conservative government ministers. Surprise, surprise, the Russian businessman who…
HEDGEHOG MARKING I have had somebody, living locally, complaining that somebody appears to be marking hedgehogs spines with different coloured paints. I am puzzled why anyone would do this to a wild animal, unless it is for some research purpose. Has anybody seen any examples of this (Totton area), or even throw any light upon…
COUNCIL COLOURS I am sure it is just a matter of luck when it comes to the dominant colour scheme, but I do take off my hat to the Liberal Democrat run Portsmouth City Council for the brilliant flower schemes to be seen around the city.
GDP / HAPPINESS This is a very interesting illustration of global changes in economic fortunes. Even if the United Kingdom stays together (which now seems increasingly unlikely given that Scotland wants to stay in the EU), it seem that we are destined to slip further down the rankings as our traditional trade diminishes. An important…
