Is there anything more outrageous than President Trump blaming the forest fires in California on a failure on the part of the federal government to get local people to “rake” the forest?
Trump has taken the idea of being a complete and utter buffoon to a new level and he occupies the position of President of the USA!
Leaving aside his belief that climate change could not possibly be a factor, he doesn’t seem to appreciate what raking would entail.
The 2018 wildfire season is the most destructive on record in California, with a total of 7,579 fires burning an area of 1,667,855 acres.
To support his assertion, Trump claimed that the Finnish President told him that his country doesn’t suffer wild fires because his people rake their forests.
Again, ignoring the fact that the temperatures and rainfall in Finland is entirely different to California, Trump’s announcement was rather undermined when the Finnish President himself confirmed he had never had such a conversation with him!
We have gone from fake news to rake news… how much lower can it all get?

It’s a very time for the conservative party and for democracy generally. With one New Forest Tory MP voting “Yes” to the Brexit deal and another voting “No”, they lose the ability to blame anyone else but themselves.
Despite possessing an “A” level in Economics and studying “Quantitative methods” on my way to becoming a Chartered Insurer, I still don’t fully understand statistics and sometimes have to listen to two friends who are economists and are prepared to patiently explain to me how something works, or how reliable a statistic actually is.
