Pollution Incident Today

Pollution incident turns out to be harmless dye

I am very grateful to a member of the public who contacted me via Facebook and told me about a bright green liquid appearing in the Bartley water, at Rum Green (the top end of Brokenford Lane, Totton).

I immediately went out to check the situation.

I took these photographs.

It appears to me that this is likely to be a significant quantity of anti-freeze.

I have reported this to the Environment Agency.

The incident reference is 1583983.

It’s frankly best not to speculate as to the source of the pollution, but allow the EA to investigate and hopefully prosecute the person / company responsible.

Politics in Crisis

It’s a very time for the conservative party and for democracy generally. With one New Forest Tory MP voting “Yes” to the Brexit deal and another voting “No”, they lose the ability to blame anyone else but themselves.
