Amongst the phone calls I received today, there was a lady who was kind enough to call me from Bournemouth. She had been to Holmsley in the New Forest and had witnessed an old man, with his grandson, feeding a loaf of bread to a New Forest pony.
She thought this was wrong, so had looked around the internet before finding a website post from myself explaining the situation.
There is absolutely no reason at all to feed bread to New Forest ponies. It does nothing but harm. I will let the Ranger team at the Park Authority know this is happening, in case he is a repeat offender.
