New Traffic Lights Cause Long Tail Backs

Traffic Jam
Traffic Jam

Rather annoyingly, Associated British Ports have installed new traffic lights at the entrance to Eling wharf.

As with the sleeping policeman (that they had to remove within 48 hours of installing them), they have done this without prior notice or consultation.

Today, there have been long tail backs of lorries, stretching back along the A35 towards Rushington roundabout, completely blocking the inside lane.

I am trying to get hold of someone at the company to ask that they switch off the lights but I am only getting a recorded message response.

I will try again in the morning.

I did ask their Chief Executive to provide advance notice of anything happening in the wharf that might impact on the local community.

“Ho Hum”……
