MEADOW PIPIT

A very attractive bird, often seen in the New Forest, is this Meadow Pipit. I photographed this one near Shatterford car park, near Beaulieu Road Station, New Forest one evening last week.

I do think that car park closures and a reduction in visitor numbers has helped bird life. It will be interesting to see the results of studies comparing breeding success this year, with "normal" years, especially with threatened species such as the Curlew and Lapwing.
