Homelessness in the New Forest – Video

Here, Councillor David Harrison explains that homelessness is a big issue, even here in the New Forest. It has been identified as a homelessness hotspot by the housing charity “Shelter”.

The problem is acute but it is not always visible as you don’t tend to see clusters of obviously homeless people in the town centres.

It’s often a case of suffering without being easily visible because people are sleeping in cars and on friends sofas for the odd night.

David thinks this issue transcends normal party politics and for this reason, is prepared to work cross-party with other politicians to try and find solutions to what is something of a crisis.
