Hampshire County Council Tax Rise

The Press seem to have got hold of some secret papers confirming that the Conservatives at Hampshire County Council have decided to increase tax for the next financial year by a further 2.99%.
If true, the tax people pay will likely be a slightly higher percentage than that because of the impact of other authorities increasing their proportion of the council tax collected, including the police authority, (which is really struggling as a result of government cut backs).
We haven’t actually got to the formal Budget setting meeting yet.
That takes place on February 14th.
As always, interested to know what the council taxpayers who live in Totton South and Marchwood think about this.
