    Hi Barry,

As always happens , the Conservatives pushed through their budget. This time it included cutting the funds that pay for our ACSO’s. There will be more cuts on the way, including bus services and who knows what else (they aren’t saying). Whilst they do need to make savings, some cuts will actually end up costing them more money – highway maintenance being a good example.

THANKS FOR STORM HELP…

THANKS FOR STORM HELP A big "Thank You" to everyone who helped during the stormy weather today. It was quite a challenge and involved a lot of people, whether it was Council workers, clearing trees from roads, utility workers fixing power lines, train drivers and guards getting out and clearing track, too many to mention……

Councillors’ stamp of approval to push to re-open post box

MP AND THE POST BOX CAMPAIGN You would certainly hope that our local MP would support this campaign. Just imagine… no post…. no case-work… https://www.advertiserandtimes.co.uk/royal-mail-post-box… Councillors’ stamp of approval to push to re-open post…

It seems that the condition of roads across the County is worsening and that there is little prospect of things improving. Hampshire is supposed to look after some 5000 miles of road. When a pot hole appears it…

We seem to be in the zone where the strongest winds are predicted for tonight and tomorrow morning. I am anticipating a lot of trees falling, not just because of the winds, but because the ground is saturated with water and less able to hold roots. Take care where you can. Probably wise not to…

Fishlake Meadows...

FISHLAKE MEADOWS…

FISHLAKE MEADOWS I was delighted to visit Fishlake Meadows, just north of Romsey town centre, today. The staff and volunteers at Hampshire & IOW Wildlife Trust have clearly put in a lot of work since taking over management of this area as a nature reserve. It's far more accessible now, with an extended pathway, although…
