I was delighted to visit Fishlake Meadows, just north of Romsey town centre, today. The staff and volunteers at Hampshire & IOW Wildlife Trust have clearly put in a lot of work since taking over management of this area as a nature reserve.
It's far more accessible now, with an extended pathway, although it was flooded in places and I would recommend wearing wellington boots.
I saw and heard a few different birds. I think I even glimpsed a Marsh Harrier (although I'm only about 80% sure). Easier to spot was this buzzard, who came quite close.
