I was a guest speaker at the rally organised by New Forest for Europe today.
This is a cross party organisation that supports continued membership of the European Union and is strongly opposed to closing down Parliament and the current government attempt to force through a “no deal” Brexit.
The gathering was well attended and was generally good spirited, with the exception of one passer by who shouted aggressively that we had no right to fight for our beliefs because he had “served in the Falklands and Iraq”.
He was quickly challenged and seen off by one of our our supporters who told him that he had also served in both conflicts and did so to defend democracy and our right to campaign for the things we believe in.
It was really rather nice to find common cause with representatives from Labour, Conservatives and Green party present at the rally.

I have been pressing Hampshire County Council Highway Chiefs to take more action to help prevent the possibility of further lorry tipping incidents on Rushington roundabout.
