Winston Churchill

One of my earliest memories was listening to the announcement of the death of Winston Churchill on the radio.

I didn’t realise, until much later, what a contribution he had made.

He is very often quoted.

His best quotes are the ones that have more than an element of humour in them.

Both advocates of the EU and opponents of the EU selectively quote him at different times.

My personal favourite is ” I would rather argue with one hundred idiots than have one agree with me”… something I often think of when standing up in the council chamber!
