Councillor Davod Harrison

A Bridge to Far

A bridge to far
A bridge to far

It really isn’t a very big ask….. the footbridge over the railway line at Totton station to be re-painted.

I have been trying to persuade both Network Rail and the train operators to attend to this for some years now, without any success.

Unfortunately, neither organisation are accountable to Councillors so they can happily ignore us without consequences.

I am pleased to hear from my County Council colleague, Neville Penman, that he has met with one of the bosses at South Western Trains and made the same complaint.

He has also asked that they look at better facilities for disabled people and a general tidying up of the station itself.

I hope that something will be done.

We both work together in the best interests of the town.

We agree that sights like this create a terrible impression for anyone stepping off the train and walking along the platform. First impressions count!
