Councillor Davod Harrison

Warning To Jet Ski Users

I understand that the Harbour Master has been informed of a series of incidents where Jet Ski’s are being ridden, launched off from Eling Quay, far in excess of the 6 knots speed limit.

It really isn’t acceptable to ignore the limit within the quay area, especially as it only takes a minute or so, before you can access the Solent.

I am no killjoy, I love to see people having fun, but there are safety issues involved, with other users of the quay being put at risk.

My guess is that, if people aren’t going to act in a responsible manner, the Council will probably decide to ban the launching of jet skis at Eling if the behaviour continues.

“Wise up” people, before it is too late.
