Walktober With Oakfield School

Walktober
Walktober

It was a joy to join in with a Clean Air Facts Hunt with the children of Oakfield School this morning.

Basil the Bird was the most popular visitor (nobody hugs a Councillor).

Full credit to the staff and Governors at the school for preparing a school travel plan and encouraging parents and children to walk, cycle or scoot to school.

All this is excellent work but I guess people will also be reflecting on the wisdom of cutting school crossing patrols.

This seems to me to run entirely counter to encouraging walking to school!
