Councillor Davod Harrison

Thank You Chris

Chris Lagdon

The deadline for nominating people to stand for elections to Hampshire County Council on May 4th has passed.

The big surprise here in Totton & Marchwood is that UKIP have not fielded a candidate in either seat.

They currently hold the Totton North seat and came second place in my division of Totton South & Marchwood.

It means that County Councillor Chris Lagdon will no longer be a Hampshire County Councillor after May 4th.

I know that he has not enjoyed good health, (although it is a shock to find that UKIP have not put up an alternative candidate).

I wish Chris all the best for the future.

We may have been a long way apart when it comes to the future of our country in Europe, but we found ourselves in agreement on so many things local.

He was also willing to work with me on many issues, like funding for the Age Concern Luncheon Club.

The elections in my division will now be a more classic contest between the Tory candidate, a labour candidate and myself, for the Liberal Democrats.

Good luck to everyone taking part.

It’s very hard work getting elected and even harder work when you are!
