It's been a busy time for me on the run up to Christmas and the New Year, so I will provide just a short report, detailing my involvement in village related activities and am happy to try and answer any questions.
I have just returned from a Planning Meeting at New Forest District Council in which I proposed refusal of an application to build 80 new dwellings on the green field, north of Loperwood Lane.
I am very pleased that Hampshire County Council have apparently decided not to close any of the HWRC's in the County
It has been a good year for cycling.
The County Council has set a budget for the year ahead. Broadly, Council tax will rise by about 4%.
It's taken about four years to plan and included a very long and detailed public consultation
Household Waste Facility It would seem that HCC have quietly decided not to progress the decision to spend about £600,000 on upgrading the Household Waste Recyling Facility at Marchwood.
How time flies, …. it seems like only last week since I provided my last report... perhaps the surest sign yet of my advancing years !
In response to my request, NFDC have agreed to install a new litter bin near the bus shelter, (Rushington side) of the A35 at Rumbridge.
Footway & Cycle Link to Totton - As I'm sure most of you know the project to create a new safe cycle and footway linking Marchwood to Totton has now been largely completed.
HEALTH I have been to Dorset to question health bosses over the proposed Clinical Services Review.
These days, I am probably better known through Facebook than I am in "real life". It's humbling to know that about two and a half thousand people think that the thoughts and activities of a local Councillor are interesting enough to follow regularly.

I am sure that all members will be aware of the great progress that has been made and that construction will likely start in the Spring and hopefully an opening in late summer 2015.
Good progress to report on this project, partly as a result of good fortune.
At the risk of opening myself up to criticism, one of the benefits of getting elected and then appointed onto the New Forest National Park Authority is that I do get an opportunity to attend one or two conferences.
