Never Stop Learning and Being Positive About The Future
I was chuckling today, at realising that, for over half of my life, I had simply assumed there was only one type of seagull.
I just didn’t pay any attention to them.
A white bird that looked like a seagull was, in my mind, a seagull.
Having taken up an interest in ornithology, I began to realise how blind I had been all these years.
There are Herring gulls that are very different from common gulls, different from black-headed gulls, different again great black-backed gulls and lesser black-backed gulls…. I could go on!
My crime was even worse as I began to realise that other birds I had taken for gulls, were not gulls at all, but Terns.
I have now seen Arctic Terns, Sandwich Terns and Common Terns.
The more you study a subject, the more interesting it can get.
As far as birds go… there is no going back for me.
The point is that you should never stop learning about “Stuff”.
I have friends who are in their 80″s who have a really positive attitude, still learning new things.
It reflects what I have long suspected to be the case, keep a positive attitude and be interested in all around you and you will very likely stave off depression and an early demise.

I make no apology for telling Health Bosses this week that the plans they have for re-locating services won’t work unless people without their own transport are properly provided for.
