Lower Test Nature Reserve

Lower Test Nature Reserve

A few pictures from a somewhat damp visit to the lower Test Nature Reserve this morning (Tuesday 5th September).

Interestingly, the osprey, (presumably the same one from Fishlake Meadows) has been seen in the area. I didn’t spot the bird today.

I have however, had a positive response from Hampshire & IOW Wildlife Trust about the idea of installing a platform or two to encourage ospreys to nest in the area.

They are already in touch with people doing similar work in Dorset.

I didn’t get a shot of the best bird I saw. It was a sparrow hawk, hunting his prey at great speed.

There is a lot of “alien”, rapid growing, himalayan balsam on the reserve at the moment.

Why Residents Parking Permit Schemes Aren’t Always The Answer
