Councillor Davod Harrison

Chilworth ?

Most people think that younger adults are having a hard time when it comes to having their housing needs met. However, a report today suggests that the problem is worse than first appears.

I have come across instances locally where private landlords refuse to rent out to people on benefits. However, I wasn’t aware that many landlords are also refusing to rent out to anyone under the age of 35.

Apparently, the thinking behind this is that younger people are less likely to have a secure income than older people.

This seems to me to be unfair discrimination.
