Fawley Power Station Site

Details of proposals for the old power station site at Fawley are being released to the media.
There was an article in the main section of the Sunday Times this week and now this, on the BBC site.
I must make no comment as I am a member of the Planning Committee that will decide whether to approve or reject the proposals.
At this stage, what’s being released is very limited, although it is interesting to see the idea of the chimney being utilised as a landmark (similar to the Spinnaker Tower).
The detailed planning application will make for very interesting reading.
I am hoping that it will provide plenty of “affordable” homes for local people and not merely cater for wealthy people who want to buy themselves an expensive weekend retreat.
